The story
The Cooperative Begins
In 1933, Louis Gambert de Loche led about one hundred winegrowers in creating the Union des propriétés, the cooperative foundation of Cave de Tain. The event coincided with France's creation of the AOC system, which linked regulated quality production with named places and local rules. The new organization gathered member growers under one cooperative wine cave. Its founding positioned Cave de Tain as a pioneer in regulated quality production and terroir governance within that new national framework for appellation wine.

Cave de Tain is located at 22 route de Larnage in Tain-l'Hermitage, in the Northern Rhône Valley. Its Saint-Joseph Nobles Rives Blanc is a white Saint-Joseph wine from granite soils in the southern part of the appellation.
Wines
The Nobles Rives name covers a Crozes-Hermitage red and a Saint-Joseph white. Esprit de Granit is a Saint-Joseph red. Together, the three bottles include two red wines and one white wine from two appellations.
Crozes-Hermitage Nobles Rives Rouge 2022 is an aromatic Syrah with blackberries and cherries, moderate body, and pepper on the finish. Saint-Joseph Esprit de Granit 2022 has freshness, dark fruit, spice and minerality from granite terroir.
