The story
The Gas Station Vineyard
Javier Bohórquez was pursuing a wine materials business deal when it failed. After a chance encounter, he saw an advertisement for 13 hectares in Pesquera de Duero at a gas station. He decided that same day to launch a wine project independently. The original land acquisition followed in 1997, and the advertised vineyard became the first land for Bodegas Bohórquez. The project began there, with Javier Bohórquez choosing to pursue wine independently and farm estate grapes near Pesquera de Duero.
